Kacaba Vineyards, Havest Update
Through an arduous growing season, Kacaba Vineyards has
been fortunate. Even though a cold spell has brought
moderate to severe frost damage to most vineyards, Kacaba
has remained frost free due to our unique
microclimate.
The sheltered location of our vineyard provides an
oasis of green in which the grapes thrive. We are optimistic
this season because, even though we had a cool and rainy summer
September was warm and sunny. Kacaba Winemaker John Tummon, has
managed the vineyard in a stellar fashion with heavy crop thinning
and leaf pulling in order to assure the best quality of fruit.
We look forward to harvesting our
chardonnay grapes today, and our Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet
Franc will be ready early to mid November when brix levels are
optimal.
A warm thank you to our customers and friends
who help to make Kacaba Vineyards a success. Our wine shop
remains open year-round, and we eagerly anticipate sharing our
spectacular wines with you.
Cheers, From the Kacaba
